I continue to identify myself as a museum specialist and folklorist. My last job was Coordinator/Assistant Professor of Museum Studies at Florida International University. I also served 6 years as President of the International Committee of Museums of Ethnography (ICME), an international committee of the International Council of Museums. I graduated of Indiana University (Ph.D., Folklore, minors in art history & anthropology) and Kent State University (B.A., African Studies and textiles).
Over the past thirty years I have worked in museums in Ohio, Oklahoma, and Florida. and consulted in museums across the US and overseas including the Jewish Museum of Greece and the National Museum of Bahrain. And there's more to the story, which will slowly be revealed in these pages!
